A disease is thought to be an obstruction to the energy flow of these channels. The ancient traditions had a deep intuitive understanding of this energetic body and knew that achieving balance in these energies is essential for optimal health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica;\">Recently, researchers have shown proof that these meridians do exist in the human body.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Scientific_research_on_energy_meridians\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 18pt;\">Scientific research on energy meridians<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 14pt;\">Scientists at SNU have confirmed the existence of what is referred to as the \u201cprimo-vascular system,\u201d which they say forms a vital part of the cardiovascular system&#8221; They showed that there are new tubular structures inside and outside the blood vessels, on the surface of the blood and lymph vessels and below the skin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica;\">The research showed that the meridian lines were not confined to the skin, but to a specific system of ducts through which fluid flows. This fluid then aggregates to form stem cells.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica;\">In addition, in another study published in the Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, researchers used CT contrast imaging with radiation at both non-acupuncture and acupuncture points.
