Nonetheless, many proprietary medicinal products have been used to improve the prognosis of patients such as, glucocorticoids,\u00a0antivirals, anticoagulants, vasodilators and anti-inflammatory agents as well as the use of hyperbaric oxygen.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Treatment_with_intra-tympanic_steroids_for_Sudden_Hearing_Loss\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;\"><strong>Treatment with intra-tympanic steroids for Sudden Hearing Loss:<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">The use of steroids for intratympanic administration is indicated for patients who cannot tolerate systemic administration of steroids, for patients with diabetes mellitus, immunosuppressed patients, or for patients infected with tuberculosis or HIV.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">Systemic administration of steroids is the basis of SSHL treatment.
