These are usually painful and are associated with redness, and occasional bleeding from the affected area(s). Therefore, the aims of treatment are to reduce pain and healing time.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Presentation_of_lesions\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;\">Presentation of lesions<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica;\">The lesions are characterized by single or multiple rounded, shallow, oral ulcers which cause moderate to intense pain and heal within 10-14 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Treatment_of_Aphthous_Ulcers\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: verdana, geneva;\">Treatment of Aphthous Ulcers<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica;\">In fact, the oral lesions normally heal automatically within 7-14 days.\u00a0Due to the indeterminate aetiology of these lesions, it is often difficult to find a definitive cure, so therefore treatment regimes consist of topical pain relief medication and vitamins to boost the<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 201px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ent.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03c4\u03af\u03c4\u03b9\u03b4\u03b1-\u03b8\u03b5\u03c1\u03b1\u03c0\u03b5\u03af\u03b11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Treatment of Aphthous Ulcers.ent\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ent.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03c4\u03af\u03c4\u03b9\u03b4\u03b1-\u03b8\u03b5\u03c1\u03b1\u03c0\u03b5\u03af\u03b11.jpg\" alt=\"Treatment of Aphthous Ulcers.ent\" width=\"191\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Treatment of Aphthous Ulcers<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica;\">immune system. Futhremore, corticosteroid, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/topics\/medicine-and-dentistry\/antiviral-therapy\">antiviral therapy<\/a>\u00a0analgesic and anaesthetic agents may be prescribed. Lastly, antibiotics, multivitamins, cauterization, topical ablation and a variety of combined therapies may be suggested.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ent.gr\/en\/%ce%b5%cf%85-lllt\/\">EY-LLLLT<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 18.6667px;\">, applied at EYiasis medical center,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 14pt;\">is an effective modality for the treatment of aphthous ulcers. Not only does EY-LLLT reduce the healing time, it also provides immediate pain relief.
